The President serves as the chief executive and administrative officer of Emory & Henry College and is the official advisor to and executive agent of the Board of Trustees. The President is responsible for all the affairs of the College, including the general administration and the academic program. Has the affirmative duty to safeguard the Christian ideals of the College and Emory & Henry's relationship to the United Methodist Church.

The Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty is the chief academic officer of the College. The Dean is expected to work in close consultation with the President. The Dean of Faculty is responsible for all academic and personnel matters as shall affect faculty recruitment, professional development and review, and promotion and tenure. Also responsible for all academic planning and policy development, curriculum revision, and all matters affecting the overall quality of the College's course offerings and academic operations and all fiscal and financial matters as shall relate to the preparation and expenditure of the annual budgets of the academic divisions and departments.



Dirk Wilmoth
Vice President for Business and Finance

The Vice President for Business and Finance is responsible to the President for supervising the business office, print shop, physical plant, retail operations and human resources. The CFO/Treasurer administers and manages the college finances, accounting and facilities operations. Provides for linkage among accounting, budgeting, and college planning; reviews and drafts contracts; manages the cash flow of the college; manages the investment of endowment and other college funds. Represents the college regarding insurance issues; directs and leads purchasing and retail services operations; develops and prepares budgets and financial analyses to assure current reporting status for decision making; prepares routine and special reports to provide sound budget and financial decisions.

Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students

The Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students directs and coordinates student programs of Emory & Henry College personally or through subordinate supervisors. Also, advises Board of Trustees regarding the formulation and development of student personnel policies. Directs and assists in planning social, recreational, and curricular programs. Counsels or advises individuals and groups on matters pertaining to personal problems, educational and vocational objectives, social and recreational activities, and financial assistance.



David Hawsey
Vice President of Enrollment Management

The Vice President of Enrollment Management oversees the recruitment, selection and financial aid activities to yield a qualified student body that meets the enrollment goals set by the College's strategic plan. Directs program of admissions counseling and reviews exceptional admissions cases. Participates in or conducts student recruitment programs with other members of faculty and staff. Organizes and directs the staff of the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid to recruit, select and enroll qualified students. Ensures that applicant data and academic credentials are correctly processed and coordinated with other offices on campus.



Tom Fowlkes
Vice President of Institutional Advancement

The Vice President of Institutional Advancement Officer has overall management responsibility for the Development and Alumni Affairs Offices and for the implementation of the College's program of resource development, including the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and acknowledgment of sources of gifts and grants. Formulates fundraising strategies and is responsible for their implementation. The Chief Development Officer is also responsible for the organization and implementation of a comprehensive advancement program. With the President, the Chief Development Officer as a member of the Executive Council plays a role in formulating institutional priorities and the strategies to achieve the mission of the College.

The Athletic Director is responsible for managing the athletic department including NCAA compliance, budget proposals and monitoring, supervision and management of coaching staff and athletic support personnel, community relations, and the collection and maintenance of departmental records and reports.



Greg McMillan
Executive Assistant to the President

The Executive Assistant to the President and Director of Institutional Research directs and coordinates activities in the President's Office and the Office of Institutional Research. Participates in formulating and administering college policies and developing long range goals and objectives. Represents the College and the President at various functions. Designs, collects, analyzes, and reports annual administrative unit assessments. Serves as recording secretary at Board of Trustees meetings. Coordinates planning for meetings and other activities of the Board of Trustees. Prepares correspondence for the President.



Lorraine N. Abraham
Director of Library & Information Services and Title III Project Director

The Director of Library & Information Services plans and administers program of library and information services. Submits recommendations on library and information service policies and services to governing body, such as Board of Trustees, and implements policy decisions. Reviews and evaluates orders for books, audiovisual materials, and electronic resources. Responsible for collection development and maintenance including books, periodicals, audiovisual materials, archives, special collections, and electronic resources. Participates in the writing of grant proposals. Forecasts library and IT needs for the College. Responsible for federal reporting for Title III grant.



Dirk S. Moore
Director of Public Relations

The Director of Public Relations develops, coordinates, and directs public relations activities for Emory & Henry College. Works with president to plan and implement the College public relations strategies, policies, and procedures; and to represent the College to the press and public. Acts as spokesperson where appropriate. Researches and writes copy for College promotional materials.



Sherry L. Lyttle
Registrar

The Registrar directs and coordinates Emory & Henry College's registration activities. Administers consistent application of federal, state and college academic policies and procedures that affect registration and academic record maintenance throughout the campus. Ensures the integrity of the College's academic record keeping. Serves as the College's certifying official on student transcripts and enrollment reports; directs the preparation and interpretation of enrollment reports; responds to subpoenas and federal, state, and College investigations regarding student enrollment.



Meighan L. Sharp
Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs/Director of the Powell Resource Center/Instructor of English

The Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs acts in place of the Academic Dean when needed; coordinates activities and services in the Paul Adrian Powell Resource Center, and teaches in English department as needed. Serves on College committees related to intervention and support of students who are having academic difficulty. Develops and administers a training program for all GNST 100 instructors. Provides training sessions for new and returning faculty advisors once a year and recruits and assigns faculty advisors to all first-year students. Works with department and division chairs, Admissions, and PR to update, produce, and distribute the pre-registration book to all first-year students. Assists with retention efforts by meeting proactively with students who are on warning or probation to provide academic support and referrals as needed.



Timothy L. Kobler

The Chaplain conducts religious worship and performs other spiritual functions associated with beliefs and practices of religious faith or denomination as authorized, and provides spiritual and moral guidance and assistance to members. Promotes a campus Christian movement and a concerned Christian ministry of the educational community; to witness in the campus community to the mission, message, and life of Jesus Christ; to deepen, enrich , and mature the Christian faith of the students, faculty, and staff through commitment to Jesus Christ and the Church and to assist them in their service and leadership to the world, in and through the Church. Serves as an "associate pastor" for Emory/Smyth Chapel United Methodist Churches. Coordinates activities of the religious life organizations on campus, denominational and interdenominational. Provides pastoral care and counseling for students.



Monica S. Hoel
Director of Alumni Affairs
B.A. Emory & Henry College

The Director of Alumni Affairs directs and coordinates activities of college alumni in order to engage and involve them in the life of the College. Prepares mailings to alumni, including the alumni magazine and electronic newsletters. Works with coordinators to plan class and special affinity reunions. Communicates with alumni and former students and assists in follow-up studies of graduates. Promotes alumni endorsement of institutional activities and enlists alumni aid in recruiting students, fund raising, and to continue their financial support. Serves as College liaison to Alumni Board.
