Coordinator for Masters of Arts in Community and Organizational Leadership
Rank of Visiting Associate Professor

Half-time position, exempt from FLSA, approximately 30 hours per week, 50 weeks per year Terminal degree required

Some teaching experience, particularly in the field of adult post-graduate education

Professional experience and expertise in either nonprofit leadership or healthcare issues preferred

Demonstrated commitment to civic engagement and community development, particularly in rural communities and in Southwest Virginia

Commitment to working with professionals to increase their skills in civic and organizational leadership

Reports to Director of Masters of Arts in Community and Organizational Leadership

Duties and responsibilities
  • Works with the Director to fulfill the mission of the MA in COL

  • Works with Director to manage and coordinate the administration of the MA in COL

  • Works with Director and the College's office of Admissions to recruit cohorts to MA in COL

  • Works with Director to recruit and orientate teaching faculty

  • Works with Director to schedule classes

  • Teach two classes per year

  • Develop close working relationship with student members of each cohort

  • In consultation with the Director, work directly with community partners to coordinate all field work associate with classes, including frequent site visits and follow-up contacts with placements

  • Build effective community partnerships for the program

  • In consultation with the Director, coordinate all special events associate with the MA in COL

  • Keep accurate records for the program
