Academics

Emory & Henry College is a transformative academic community. Our education is distinguished by progress – sometimes sudden, sometimes gradual – toward an expanded sense of personal potential and an enlightened sense of civic responsibility. This progress, this transformation, is the foundation of our culture and is built upon high-quality teaching and a community-wide commitment to serve. The impact of this academic approach is lasting and profound.

Resources

Along with more than 350,000 items in its collection, the Kelly Library provides access to numerous online databases, archives and special collections. The Powell Resource Center offers a range of the academic support services, while the E&H Career Services Office links you to job searches, graduate schools and upcoming career service events.

Research

Collecting microbes 150 feet under water. Photographing binary stars. Presenting research to major professional conferences such as the Western Political Science Association. Across the curriculum, E&H professors prepare students by encouraging research and providing opportunities most college students do not receive until graduate school.

Study Abroad

Emory & Henry students have access to more than 70 study abroad programs in 35 countries. By offering a variety of meaningful learning and service experiences abroad, the International Education Program extends the College's mission of moving toward fulfilling every student's potential by preparing students for life in a rapidly changing global society. With an emphasis on active engagement, the program enhances global awareness through an understanding of cultural diversity and global interdependence.

Far and Wide

In its 2010 college rankings edition, the Washington Monthly praised its top schools, including Emory & Henry, for "laying the foundation for the type of nation we want to become." Throughout the academic program at this College, you will be encouraged to apply the global perspective of your high quality education to the challenges and issues facing society. At Emory & Henry, we believe this not only helps improve a nation, but it provides you with the skills and the motivation to improve your own life. You will discover here people who believe in your potential and who will work hard alongside you to take that potential Far and Wide in service to your future, your community and your world.
