Workshops
Each semester Academic Support Services offers workshops as part of a continuing Skill Development Series. The programs are open to ALL STUDENTS and are designed to help students improve their study skills, test taking skill, time management, or to improve motivation, organization and interdependence. There are also special topics on reducing test anxiety, stress management, learning styles and much more. Current workshops titles are listed below:
- Study Harder, Not Longer -- How to improve your memory and study effectively in less time.
- Packing More into your Life -- Tips for managing time in college.
- Midterm Motivator -- Getting motivated and staying motivated in college.
- Take Note! -- Note-taking skills for college students.
- What did I just read? -- Active reading strategies to help you improve retention.
- Writing Right -- The essential skills for organizing and writing essays and major papers.
- The Big FREEZE -- Test taking strategies and overcoming test anxiety.
- I'll be ready to study ... as soon as I find my book -- Organizational skills for college students.

Individualized Academic Assistance and Skills Counseling
A counselor is available to work with student individually on a variety of academic issues. Students who seek academic assistance typicaly need to work on overcoming test anxiety, improving skills in note taking, studying or test taking, managing time, or improving motivation.
