Built in 1968, the Frederick Thrasher Kelly Library is named for an E&H alumnus (Class of 1905) whose $1.9 million bequest made possible the construction of the building.

The library collection consists of over 350,000 items, including books, periodicals, government documents, audio and videotapes, compact discs, DVDs and electronic databases.

Kelly Library is a member of the Holston Associated Libraries, Inc., a consortium of five private colleges, two public libraries and a law school. The libraries share an online catalog, which gives users access to all members' holdings, and have a reciprocal borrowing agreement. In addition, Kelly Library provides access to over 70 online databases, such as Expanded Academic ASAP, JSTOR, PsychInfo, MLA International Bibliography and many others. Kelly Library belongs to the VIVA and Appalachian College Association consortiums; both groups provide extensive access to electronic resources.

The Library contains computers reserved for library research, an open computer lab, a computer classroom, and wireless internet access. All residence halls have data drops to provide students with network access to the Library's electronic resources.

Kelly Library houses the archives of the College and the Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church.
