Planned Services

The Falls Prevention Center will begin operations in the fall of 2016 with resource development and outreach activities.  Community input is welcome and encouraged.

Initiation of fall prevention programs is anticipated in the spring of 2017.

An Open House will be scheduled and announced shortly.

All services provided to the community at no charge.

Services will include:

  • Comprehensive fall and injury risk screenings
  • Fall Risk Modifications Strategies
  • Individual and Group programs
  • Health, wellness, and prevention promotion and education
  • Client and caregiver training and education
  • Outreach: health fairs, home and living assessments, community service opportunities and engagement
  • Referrals to appropriate medical and community resources and services
  • Enhanced services anticipated with program development within the School of Health Sciences
  • Community members, health care provider services and referrals as the program expands to include but not limited to EMS, nursing, care homes, school based programs, AOA programs, etc.
  • Training and education of students: volunteers, research assistance, observations, supervised interactions and clinical experiences.
  • Equipment vendor clinics and referrals as appropriate
  • Adult, Geriatric and Pediatric client screenings

Mental health, wound care, and pharmacy services are not provided at the Falls Prevention Center.
