National Health Service Corps

The NHSC, established in 1972,  is a federal program through the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA), and the Bureau of Health Workforce offering financial aid & other support to primary care providers & health care sites in underserved communities.

The NHSC offers both scholarships and loan repayment opportunities to Physician Assistants, Physicians, Dentists, Nurse Practitioners and Certified Nurse Midwifes. Additionally, the NHSC assists clinical sites in recruiting & retaining qualified, patient-centered, culturally sensitive health care providers with a mission to serve the underserved.
