SHS Undergraduate Programs
The Emory & Henry College School of Health Sciences is proud to offer a Bachelors in Athletic Training and a Pre-Health Program at our beautiful Emory campus.
The mission of the Athletic Training Department at Emory & Henry College is to prepare students for entry-level careers or advanced study by educating them in the knowledge, clinical skills, and professional behaviors needed to successfully practice as an athletic training professional. We strive to provide students with a comprehensive liberal arts education in order to develop critical thinking and promote civic engagement.
The curriculum design is guided by the Educational Competencies and Clinical Proficiencies identified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Education Council. The Methodist principles on which the College was founded, along with the NATA Code of Ethics, is the basis upon which our students strive to uphold the college motto, “Increase in Excellence!”
Health care providers are some of the most sought after professionals in today’s society. With its emphasis on the liberal arts and rigorous scientific training, Emory & Henry College has earned a strong reputation for offering excellent preparation for students pursuing careers in the health sciences. While majors in fields such as biology and chemistry are excellent choices for those interested in many of the health care fields, students are able to complete majors in any of the college’s disciplines in route to becoming health care professionals.
