Marshall University School of Pharmacy Preview Day

Marshall University School of Pharmacy Preview Day

Marshall University-Coon Education Building — 1540 Spring Valley Drive Huntington, WV 25755

This event is conference style allowing each of our attendees to “choose their own adventure” and select sessions which they find of interest. There will be many sessions available, including sessions on careers, admissions, a Q&A student panel, and more.

The best part of Preview Day is the opportunity to experience our Active Learning curriculum first-hand. If you’re unfamiliar with Marshall, we are 1 of only 3 exclusively flipped classroom pharmacy schools in America. This style of learning is built for visual, hands-on learners, which make up a majority of today’s Generation Z. Because this environment is really out-of-the-ordinary, its best to experience it. We will offer two flipped classroom experiences and a compounding laboratory where attendees will “get their hands dirty” compounding pediatric gummies, chapstick or pediatric lollipops.

Students and advisors are welcome to attend! This event is designed for college and high school students considering a career in pharmacy. They’ll have the opportunity to learn about the pharmacy professions, tour our simulation and classroom facilities, learn about the pharmacy school admissions process and hear directly from our current students and faculty.

In addition to a campus tour, sessions include…

  • Experience Active Learning – What is Active Learning? Get a glimpse of the ins and outs of Active Learning, while interacting with our faculty first-hand in our flipped classrooms and compounding laboratory.
  •  Preparing for the PCAT  – Have tough questions or concerns about Marshall or what it takes to succeed in pharmacy school? Ask our students one-on-one
  • Your Future as a Pharm.D. – Our pharmacy faculty share the vast career options, specialties and routes you can travel in the pharmacy profession.
  • The Admissions Process – Where do I start? We answer that question and many more in an informative session about the steps of the pharmacy school process and how to make yourself a quality, competitive applicant.
