Transfer Credits

If you are thinking of transferring to Emory & Henry or have transferred from a two-year college, you may count up to 62 credit hours towards the number of credits you will need for an Emory & Henry degree. If you already have 62 hours worth of credit from a two-year college, you may take another course at a two-year college to meet a requirement, but your total number of credit hours earned will not increase. The Registrar will determine which of your courses are eligible to receive credit.

If you are currently enrolled at Emory & Henry and wish to take a course for credit at another college, you must apply for approval of transfer credit. Complete the Application for Approval of Transfer Credit, which can be found in the forms rack outside of the Registrar's Office; have your advisor, the Chair of the department in which the course will be used, and the Registrar approve and sign the form; and return it to the Registrar's Office.

You must complete the form prior to taking the course, and you must receive a grade of "C" or better in the course in order to obtain transfer credit. Upon completion of the course, request that the school at which you took the course send an official transcript to the Emory & Henry Registrar at PO Box 947, Emory, VA 24327-0947. Credit will be awarded when the Registrar receives your transcript.
