Career Services

The Career Services mission is to prepare Emory & Henry College students to effectively and advantageously use their knowledge, skills and abilities to explore and choose academic majors and career options, obtain career-related experience, and
develop and pursue post-graduation career plans, including graduate and professional school and employment.

Career Services hosts a variety of events throughout the year including career fairs, practice graduate tests, and employer information sessions. Career Services also publishes a weekly e-newsletter called the Career Services Connection listing upcoming events and employment opportunities.

Explore Majors & Careers

Career Services assists students in a variety of ways through the process of picking a major or career including utilizing assessments (skills, interest, and personality), career research, networking and job shadowing to support students.

Find Jobs

Seventy percent of jobs are never advertised. Learn the techniques for finding a job in today's competitive world of work: job searching, writing resumes and cover letters, networking, interviewing, dressing for success, and school to work transition.

Internships

One of the best ways to explore careers and gain experience prior to graduation is an internship.  An internship is a semester-long work experience within a company, organization or service provider. Internships are available locally and nationally, for credit and not for credit, paid and unpaid. Attend an Internship Orientation (for credit internships only) or schedule a meeting with Career Services to discuss more.

Planning for Graduate School

Should I or shouldn't I go to grad school? Career Services provides students with information to help make this decision. Additional resources and information available by scheduling an appointment with Career Services.

Staff

Career Services is located on the second floor of Wiley Hall inside the Powell Resource Center.
