Transfer Students Requirements & Deadlines

Application Process

To apply to Emory & Henry as a transfer student, please submit the following:

  1. A completed application for admission.
  2. Official transcripts from all colleges previously attended. (Students with fewer than 26 semester hours of college credit at time of application to E&H must submit high school transcripts plus SAT or ACT test scores).

  3. A completed Dean's Certificate for Transfer Students from the Dean of Students or corresponding official of the last college attended by the applicant.
  4. The Admissions Committee may request other data such as college entrance test scores and high school transcripts.

Financial Aid for Transfer Students

Emory & Henry awards merit–based scholarships to transfer students based on the cumulative college GPA. Need-based grants are available and are determined once a student submits the Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Learn More about Financial Aid, Scholarships, & Grants

Transferring to E&H?

Here are a few more things to remember:

  1. Send us your official final transcript
    Your final admission depends on satisfactory completion of your semester program of studies. You need to submit an official copy of your final semester transcript from each college or university you’ve attended since you finished high school.
  2. Maintain a good conduct record:
    Final acceptance to Emory & Henry College is also contingent upon maintaining a good conduct record. You need to let us know immediately, in writing, if any of the following occur at any time before or after your admission:
    • Any criminal charge
    • Any school, college or university disciplinary or honor code action against you
    • Any type of military discharge other than an honorable discharge
    Failure to do so will be grounds to withdraw your admission or to dismiss you after enrollment.

 Fall Enrollment Transfer Timeline:

Transfer students applying to Emory & Henry College for the fall semester can refer to this timeline for guidance in completing the process to become enrolled at the College. If you have questions email the admissions office or contact your counselor.

  • Aug. 1: Transfer students may apply any time beginning this date. Admission decisions are made on a rolling basis. Responses for completed applications are normally sent out to candidates within two weeks. Apply
  • After Jan. 1: File the FAFSA Title IV Code for E&H: 003709
  • Jan. 15: Early Action Candidate Reply Deadline. Early Action students seeking need-based financial aid must complete the FAFSA.
  • Apr. 1: Priority deadline for filing FAFSA first-come, first-served basis; certain need-based funds may be unavailable after this date
  • May 1: Deposit deadline last day for refunded deposit—students can also pay deposits after May 1 should space still exist
  • May 15: Priority deadline for completing FAFSA verification process, if selected aid cannot be released until this process is completed
  • May–June: Register for one of the three Summer Orientation sessions dates; typically held in May, June and July.
  • June–July: Complete enrollment forms and send in to Admissions Office.
  • July 15: Last date to enroll in Tuition Payment Plan eight-month payment plan during academic year, with first payment to be withheld on Aug. 1.
  • July 31: Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant (VTAG) deadline.
  • Aug. 1: Finalize fall payment arrangements.
  • Aug. 10: Deadline for return of all enrollment forms.
