Essay Instructions We encourage you to write about your challenges and successes for your application portfolio. A minimum of 250 words is required for either an essay or a respective personal statement. There is no specific essay topic, so feel free to write about a myriad of possibilities which best reflects your individual nature, interest(s), character and personality. If so desired, this is also an excellent way to explain inconsistencies between your GPA and standardized test scores or to help us better understand specific challenges in your high school courses.

Personal Interview

A personal interview with a member of the admission staff is strongly encouraged.

Acceptance

If you are accepted, your insights are used by academic advisors to place you in appropriate courses to make sure you succeed at Emory & Henry.

Some students are more comfortable sharing academic or other challenges face–to–face during a personal visit to campus. To schedule a personal visit to review your academic record, please call 800.848.5493 and we'll gladly set up an interview for you and your parents. You decide—we simply want to get to know the you beyond the “paperwork.”
