Scholarships & Grants

Based on the results of a student's Free Application for Federal Student Aid and other eligibility criteria, a student may be eligible to receive funding from grants, scholarships and loans.


Students must resubmit the FAFSA each year for need-based aid and federal loans, and maintain satisfactory academic progress requirement to retain eligibility for financial aid.

E&H Scholarships

Emory & Henry College awards merit-based academic scholarships based on GPA and SAT/ACT scores. Scholarships for incoming students range from $4,000 to $17,000. The Admissions Office will present accepted applicants' information to the Vice President for Enrollment Management for award. The Bonner Scholar Program is a highly competitive scholarship program for service oriented students with high need. See each scholarship or grant program detailed below.

E&H Grants

The grants available from Emory & Henry provide need-based aid to students and include the Access Grant, the Out-of-State Grant, and Endowed and Non-Endowed Scholarships.

Federal Grants

All federal grants are subject to Title IV regulations and are subject to change based on legislative action by the U.S. Congress and regulations from the U.S. Department of Education.

State Grants

Virginia residents are eligible for five grants, including the VTAG, from the commonwealth. Out-of-state students can use the online listings of state grants to search for funds from their home state.

Outside Scholarships

The scholarships listed here are from outside sources. Emory & Henry College has no control or influence over application process or receipt of these scholarships. If you receive a scholarship from any outside source, you must notify the CSA Office at Emory & Henry College of the amount and source of your scholarship to comply with all federal regulations and institutional policies based on the results of your FAFSA and other financial aid.
