Student employment is available on campus at Emory & Henry College. Campus positions may pay $1,100 a year in exchange for 5 to 10 hours of work per week by the student. Only students who are eligible for federal work study can be employed in campus positions, with very few exceptions.
Eligibility for student employment is determined by the Centralized Student Assistance (CSA) Office and is a part of the student's total financial aid package. Students who qualify for federal assistance based on their FAFSA results are awarded student employment if their total financial need is not met after all scholarships and grants have been applied to their financial aid package subject to available funding.
All students eligible for student employment are offered a chance to secure a position on campus. Securing the position is the responsibility of each student. There is sufficient number of jobs for those awarded eligibility to find work, but the college cannot guarantee that the student will be able to find employment that fits his or her schedule or desired job duties.
Student employment opportunities are posted through College Central Network and will be available as of August 17. Instructions for accessing College Central Network are as follows:
If you are unable to login to College Central Network, e-mail Amanda Gardner, Director of Career Services at email@example.com
All federal work study students must apply, interview, complete all paperwork, and be hired no later than September 3, or risk losing their position for the year. Beginning September 10, international students (who cannot work off campus) and any need-based student eligible for federal work study (who may have not been awarded initially) will be authorized to apply for positions, but federal work study students may continue to apply for available positions; however, jobs at this point may be fewer than the number of students looking for work.
As of September 17, any remaining positions will be open to the entire student population regardless of need. Federal work study students who do not have a job by this date will have their work study award cancelled.
