Admissions

Financial Aid - Apply for Financial Aid

STEP 1: Apply for Admission
You must first be accepted for admission to the College before you can be considered for financial aid.

STEP 2: Obtain FAFSA
By mid-December:
Obtain a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) from your high school guidance counselor or college financial aid office.

STEP 3: Submit FAFSA
As soon as possible after January 1 and prior to February 15:
Submit the completed FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, to the Emory & Henry Financial Aid Office, or to the agency indicated on the form. Indicate that you want results sent to Emory & Henry College, code 003709. Students who meet the February 15 deadline should receive a response from the Emory & Henry Office of Financial Aid by March.

NOTE: Before submitting your application, please double-check all names, social security numbers, and make sure you sign the application. Also, if you choose to submit a paper copy of the FAFSA, mail it directly to our financial aid office instead of the address provided on the application. This will allow us to process your application much faster.

STEP 4: Apply for loans
Along with your award letter, you will be sent instructions on completing both student and parent loans. Once you have completed the loan process, the College will be notified electronically of your loan application.

STEP 5: Submit Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant (VTAG) application
By July 31:
The Virginia Tuition Assistance Grant (VTAG) is a state funded grant available to all Virginia residents attending a private college in Virginia. This grant is guaranteed but does require an application. We will mail this form to Virginia residents after they have been accepted for admission. Deadline for this application is July 31. Click here to download a copy of the VTAG application.
