How to Apply
Emory & Henry welcomes all qualified applicants for admission to the college. Our academic requirements include four years of high school English, three units of math (Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry), two laboratory science courses, two years of the same foreign language, and two years of social studies or history.
Admission counselors will also evaluate academic performance in high school, including the senior year curriculum, GPA, class rank, and standardized test scores. Strong emphasis is also placed on involvement and leadership in extracurricular and community activities.
To apply for admission to Emory & Henry College, you may complete our online application or download a PDF (35K) of the application, fill it out, and return it with other requested documents. You may use the transcript request form (PDF 35K) to request an official high school transcript and test scores from your high school. Specific application procedures are listed below.
Regular Admission Applicants
Emory & Henry College processes applications on a continuous basis throughout the year. In most instances, candidates are notified of an admissions decision within two weeks of receipt of the completed application. To apply, please submit the following:
- A completed application for admission and the $30 application fee
(no application fee when applying online)
- An official secondary school transcript
- Your SAT I or ACT score report
A personal interview with a member of the admission staff is strongly encouraged.
International Student Applicants
To apply to Emory & Henry as an international student, please submit the following:
- Complete the International Student Admission Application and send it to the Office of Admissions with a $30 (U.S. dollars) nonrefundable application fee.
- Send official transcripts of all school work you have completed beyond the eighth grade year of school-- that is, official records for the equivalent of the American secondary school grades nine, ten, eleven, and twelve, and for any college or university work you have taken. Typically, you should request the principal officer of your secondary school and of your college (if you have done college work) to send the official records of your study to the Director of Admissions at Emory & Henry College. To be official, documents must be an original or a certified copy. Copies must be certified after the reproduction has been made.
- Complete and submit the Certification of Finances Form, which demonstrates your ability to support the costs of tuition, room, and meals, in addition to the price of round-trip airfare from your native country.
- Send results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) if your native language is not English. You must score at least 550 (paper-based TOEFL) or 21 (computer-based TOEFL).
International students admitted to the United States on F-1 student visa status are required by federal law to be registered as full-time students, carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours of academic work each semester.
