We are excited you are considering Emory & Henry to be your home away from home! We welcome applications from international students. Below you will find information related to admission, scholarships and requirements for your student visa.

Apply for International Admission

To apply for admission to Emory & Henry, you must complete our international student application and submit all required materials/documentation prior to these deadline dates

  • May 1 for the fall semester that begins mid-August

  • November 1 for the spring semester that begins mid-January.

 International Application Requirements:

  1. Complete and submit the E&H Online Application for First-Year International Admission or Transfer International Admission or the Common Application - along with the required $50 application fee. 

  2. Secondary School Transcripts

    • These must be translated into English and be official transcripts of all school work completed beyond the eighth-grade year of school - official records for the equivalent of American secondary school grades 9, 10, 11, and 12.
    • Typically, you should request the principal officer of your secondary school to send the official transcripts to the Director of International Admissions at Emory & Henry. To be official, documents must be an original or a certified copy. Copies must be certified after the reproduction has been made.
  3. Standardized Test Scores

    • An official report of your tests of English as a foreign language (we do not provide test fee waivers). Emory & Henry recognizes:
      • IELTS - Minimum Band 6 (with at least a score of 5 in each exam area)
      • TOEFL - Minimum 78 (with no subscore below 18)
      • Duolingo English Test - Minimum score of 100
      • SAT - E&H code: 5185
      • ACT - E&H code: 4350
      • The Standardized Test requirement will be waived for students who spend one or more years as an exchange student in an American high school, or whose secondary education includes English as a required foreign language and have achieved appropriate grade-point scores indicating competency with written, verbal and oral English language skills.
  4. Letter of Recommendation

    • Must be submitted by a teacher, headmaster or guidance official.
  5. International Student Financial Information

    • Not required until after your acceptance to Emory & Henry
    • Student Financial Statement Form
    • A notarized bank statement showing enough financial support to afford at least the first year of study after any scholarships have been applied. 

What’s Next?

  • Once you pay your enrollment deposit we will send the official acceptance letter, the I-20 student visa application, along with other information related to the next steps you will need to take to register for classes, arrange for a residence hall assignment, and transition to life as an Emory & Henry student.
  • A non-refundable $200 enrollment commitment deposit is required of all new students and may be paid through the PaytoStudy Banking System by going to https://ehc.paytostudy.com. If choosing to pay through PaytoStudy you will need to provide your Emory & Henry Student ID number. If you do not have your Student ID Number you may contact the admissions office by phone or email to obtain your information. 
    Note: We do not send the I-20 form until you have paid your deposit. 

International Exchange Program

Students who are enrolled at partner institutions can study at Emory & Henry for a year or semester as part of their home institution requirements. Such students must be nominated by their home institution in order to participate. If you are a student at a partner university and have been nominated for exchange, please read the International Exchange Guidelines carefully.

The deadline for applications for the Fall Semester (mid-August) is May 1 and for the Spring semester (mid-January) is November 1. Applications received after this deadline will be considered at the discretion of the Director of Admissions and the Office of International Education.

Supporting Documents Required

After you submit your application, you must email the following documents to admission@ehc.edu:

  1. A copy of your Official Academic Transcript from your home university in English (this is the document that contains the grades you have achieved in your studies at university to date).
  2. Personal Statement Essay (your reasons for choosing E&H – 1-2 pages typed).
  3. A copy of the ID information page of your passport (please ensure it is in date).
  4. Emory & Henry Study Plan.
  5. Evidence of English language level  - TOEFL/IELTS/ACT/SAT.
