Emily studied creative writing and art at Emory & Henry, earned a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and earned a master’s degree in folklore from UNC-Chapel Hill – and in the process she managed to find a niche in the world of food and academia that is now feeding her career.

When Ethel Holder Preston (’66) read in the Emory & Henry Alumni Magazine that the College radio station was now expanded and broadcasting NPR, she was intrigued. Because, as fate would have it, after a long career in education, she finds herself working for the local NPR station in Park City, Utah.
