E&H Alumni Enjoy Big Coaching Successes in 2013

2013 has been a big year for E&H alumni who are coaching their teams to state championships. 

Amy Vaughn Reed (’94) just took the Gate City High School volleyball team to its fifth state championship this fall.

December 14, 2013, was also a big day for state championship football games.  

Congratulations to Dinwiddie High School where Billy Mills (’91), is head coach, and Patrick Steele (’00) is an assistant coach. They just won the VHSL 4A State Championship.

Aaron Brand (’98) is offensive coordinator at Mallard Creek HS in North Carolina where and helped lead the Mavericks to a perfect 16-0 season and the State 4-AA football championship.

Congratulations to Murphy High School in North Carolina where Thomas Nelson (’98) is an assistant coach for the new 1A BB&T/NCHSAA State Champions.  

Mike Reavis ('95) is on the coaching staff at Altavista High School and they just won the Virginia 1A state championship title.

Congrats to Giles High School for winning the Virginia State 2A title in overtime. Anthony “Cooney” Ratcliffe (’06) is on the coaching staff there.

And congratulations to Northside High School where Burt Torrence (’96) is the head coach. They won the Virginia 3A title.
