E&H Graduate Promoted To Assistant General Manager for Yankees Affiliate

Harold Craw (class of 1999), who has been a member of the Charleston RiverDogs Minor League Baseball team sales staff since joining the club in 2003, has been promoted to Assistant General Manager, according to general manager Dave Echols.
Formerly the club’s Director of Sales and Operations, Craw was recognized by the South Atlantic League as the 2008 Sales Executive of the Year in addition to receiving the SAL Community Relations Director of the Year for 2009.
“Harold is a vital part of the RiverDogs’ overall sales success story,” said Echols. “He has certainly earned this promotion as he works hard and gets things done. The results he continually posts warrants this promotion.”
“It’s an honor to be recognized for hard work,” said Craw. “Mike (Veeck, club president) and Dave are great mentors. They have allowed me the opportunity to work in the game I love while still trying to effect change in our community.”
A 1999 graduate of Emory & Henry College who added a Master’s degree from East Tennessee State in 2001, Craw, a native of Chattanooga, Tenn., has held the positions of director of sales, director of ticket sales, sales coordinator and sales manager during his tenure with the RiverDogs.
Before joining the New York Yankees’ affiliate in Charleston, Craw was the director of stadium operations for the Johnson City (Tenn.) Cardinals in 2002. While working on his Master’s at ETSU, he served as the facility director for the 2002 NAIA National Indoor Track and Field Championships and also worked as a basic instruction program instructor at ETSU. He began his working career as a physical education/wellness teacher in the Hamilton County (Tenn.) Department of Education.
Craw is the co-founder and co-chairman of the Charleston RBI Program, whose efforts are to get inner-city youth further exposed to the game of baseball. He also introduced and implemented the RiverDogs’ annual and popular Salute to the Negro Leagues and other minority initiatives.
He additionally oversaw the daily operation and maintenance of Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park that includes RiverDogs games and special events that the facility hosts.
Craw is married to the former Angie Bryson and they have a three-year-old daughter, Cameron.
