Wiley Hall Renovations

- A major renovation of Wiley Hall, Emory & Henry's main administrative building, is scheduled to be completed by January 2009. The $3 million project will update and reconfigure office space to provide a more comfortable atmosphere and accommodate new administrative goals and priorities.
The new floor plan calls for an elevator and other forms of handicap accessibility. The improvements also would include greater use of the building's main and fourth floors as office space.
The highlight of the project will include restoration of the main lobby and corridors of the building to their original 1929 appearance. After removing paneling in these areas, architectural conservators uncovered the original wall plaster and oak surroundings adorning the large lobby.
The goal of the restoration is to expose the original wall design and to enhance the historical significance of one of the region's most recognizable structures.
