An E&H music degree opens the door to almost limitless possibilities in the field of music. From a bachelor's degree in music, to a music performance degree, to a music education degree, our comprehensive degree programs are designed to prepare you for the rewarding career of a music professional. With student focused faculty you can be sure that your passions are being nurtured all while expanding your knowledge and abilities.
All E&H instrumental ensembles are open to all students and provide an excellent opportunity for students to continue to perform at the collegiate level. Some of the ensembles are by audition and travel and tour both nationally and internationally while serving the college for ceremonial functions. In the recent past instrumental ensembles have toured German, Austria, and China and were featured at the National Trumpet Competition and the International Trumpet Guild.
All ensembles count towards the artistic expression graduation requirement.
The E&H Music Department is pleased to offer numerous occasions for regional, national, and international travel. All choral and instrumental ensembles perform regularly for schools, churches, and music conferences throughout the region. The choirs and brass ensembles participate in an international tour every four years. Most recently, the Concert & Chamber Choirs toured through South Africa (May 2016). Previous tours included China and Germany.
The E&H Choirs offer students exciting learning and performance opportunities to aid in the development of vocal and musical skills while exploring a variety of musical styles. Performances range from formal campus concerts to regional, national and international tours. There are two choirs on campus: Concert Choir and Chamber Choir; and a single course for classical solo performance: Opera Workshop.
