Galleries

Emory & Henry features two gallery spaces for the visual arts with numerous exhibition spaces throughout campus. We are also looking forward to a major expansion of exhibition with the anticipated construction of the McGlothlin Center for the Visual and Performing Arts. The 1912 Gallery has been host to works by numerous nationally and internationally recognized artists, including Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Eric Fischl, Janet Fish, James Valerio and Sally Mann. Byars Hall, the home for the academic departments in the arts, provides attractive space for the exhibition of works by talented student artists.

The 1912 Gallery

Emory & Henry College sponsors temporary exhibits by emerging and nationally acclaimed artists who work from a variety of philosophical perspectives. These visiting artists actively interact with art students during their campus visits, which also include a major lecture delivered as part of the college's LYCEUM program. The rotating schedule features three artists each semester.

Byars Hall Student Art Galleries

Students regularly exhibit in the Student Works Gallery in Byars Hall. The Student Art Association (SAA) sponsors a silent art auction of student and faculty work in early December.
