Intramural & Recreation
The Emory & Henry Intramural Program strives to provide the highest quality programs that combine competition, teamwork, and community. The E&H Outdoor Program is committed to sustainability, cultivating ecological awareness and responsibility in its participants. Both of these programs work toward our historic commitment to transform lives and to create positive social interactions within the College and the surrounding community.
Intramurals
The Intramural Program at Emory & Henry is all about developing friendships, competition and fun. Throughout the year, the Intramural Program offers six season events and ten one-day tournament events. Teams and individuals compete for bragging rights and a Champion T-shirt. Students are also welcome to enter teams in many regional and national tournaments sponsored by the National Intramural and Recreation Student Association (NIRSA).
Outdoor Program
Emory & Henry is nestled in an outdoor adventure paradise. Lush forests to hike, mountains for cross-country skiing, creeks to paddle, cliffs for rappelling, and deep caves for spelunking are just minutes from the Emory & Henry campus. The Outdoor Adventure Program is available to the entire E&H community and introduces individuals to the wonders of silent sports. The Outdoor Leadership Program is for students who want to develop advanced skills and certification.
Lynch Links
Another athletic facility is Lynch Links, Emory & Henry's nine-hole par three golf course. Lynch Links is open to students, faculty and staff at no cost. The course is named for Charles V. Lynch, Sr., a 1942 graduate who funded construction of the course and provided an endowment for its maintenance. Although not used by the college golf team for competition, the course offers excellent practice opportunities.
Disc Golf
The eighteen-hole Emory & Henry Disc Golf Course was built in the summer of 2006 by a coalition of student, faculty and staff volunteers. The course quickly became a popular activity. The course winds through the woods that surround Emory & Henry's campus including some of the best views of campus. A variety of holes makes this a challenging and fun activity for all skill levels.
