With dedication, motivation, hard work and a positive attitude, junior Savanna Tickle offers her leadership skills to the Emory & Henry College women’s tennis team.

One of the main reasons that Savanna chose to attend Emory & Henry was to continue playing tennis. She has played tennis since her freshman year at Graham High School in Bluefield, Va.

“Since I did not start playing tennis at a young age, the thing that inspires me the most to play tennis is to become a better player each and every time I step on the court,” she said, “Also, Venus and Serena!”

As a sister of a social sorority, Savanna has participated in multiple service projects.

“As a part of Kappa Phi Alpha, I helped send gifts for troops overseas. Also Kappa Phi Alpha is involved in the Adopt a Highway Program, so each semester we pick up trash on Aspen Road, which is near the E&H campus,” she said.

During her time at Emory & Henry, Savanna has achieved Academic All Conference and First Team All Conference in doubles tennis, while competing in both singles and doubles matches. Some of Savanna’s fondest memories have been made during spring break competition trips with the E&H tennis team.

Savanna is a psychology major and plans to attend graduate school after leaving Emory & Henry College.
