Degree Programs

An important extension of the E&H emphasis on service are two degree programs that help students deepen their understanding and application of service as it relates to places. A popular bachelor's degree program, Public Policy & Community Service, provides students with the tools they need to work professionally in the field of community organizing and leadership. A master's degree in community and organizational leadership helps provide individuals committed to civic leadership with the skills and tools necessary for proactive leadership focused on building strong communities.

Public Policy & Community Service

The Public Policy and Community Service major and minor are designed to instill an understanding of the interdisciplinary nature of the study of public policy making and community service, including the influence of social, cultural, political, economic, and religious factors in community life.The major seeks to provide you with concepts and skills in community-centered analysis and action research and to help you better understand the impact of local, regional, national, and global structures, and institutions on social change. The Public Policy and Community Service major at Emory & Henry enables you not only to understand change but to become an agent of change.

Master's in Community and Organizational Leadership

An integral part of the mission of Emory & Henry College to educate, serve, and equip persons for effective citizenship, the Master of Arts in Community and Organizational Leadership (MCOL) provides persons involved in nonprofit, for-profit organizations, governmental bodies, public agencies, and other areas of civic leadership the skills and tools necessary for proactive leadership focused on building strong communities.
