Service Scholarships

Through the generosity of others, Emory & Henry is able to provide scholarships to students who engage in service. These scholarships not only help students defray tuition expenses while they perform service work, but they help underscore the College's belief in service learning as a vital component of the liberal arts.

Bonner Scholars

Established in 1991 by the Corella and Bertram F. Bonner Foundation, Inc., of Princeton, New Jersey, the Bonner Scholars Program is the premier service scholarship program at Emory & Henry College. The Bonner Program offers 80 scholarships annually in return for eight hours of direct community service and two hours of reflection and participation in enrichment events per week.

Appalachian Center Associates

The Appalachian Center Associates Program awards up to 10 students a renewable yearly scholarship of $1,200 per year in return for six hours of community service per week. Students may choose their service sites. Recent sites have included E&H Tutoring, Afternoon Academy, and Valley Health Care Center, a nearby long-term care facility for the elderly.
