22nd Annual Family Fun Day Held at E&H

The 22nd annual Washington County Family Fun Day was held Saturday, April 16 at the E&H King Center.  More than 325 people participated in the free event which included games and activities for children of all ages.  Forty local non-profit organizations and agencies attended the event to share information about their programming and resources available to the community.

The E&H American Chemical Society gave away over 200 bowls of ice cream made using liquid nitrogen, while APO sponsored a bake walk and face painting.

The Appalachian Center for Community Service sponsored the event in collaboration with a planning committee made up of representatives from local non-profit organizations and agencies, including Highlands Community Services, Abuse Alternatives, Highlands Educational Literacy Program, Washington County Rotary Club, Children's Advocacy Center, Mt. Rogers Health District, Washington County Public Library, Washington County Schools Kidz Place Parent Resource Center, Washington County Department of Social Services, Senior Navigator, SW VA Medical Resrve Corps, and Primerica Financial Services.
