Kellogg to Deliver Convocation Address
New and returning students will convene on the South Lawn of the Memorial Chapel Aug. 23 at 7 p.m. to officially open the 175th academic session of Emory & Henry College.
As the official start of the 2011-2012 year, convocation will also mark the beginning of the College's 175th Anniversary celebration, a year-long event marking the College's founding in 1836 by the Holston Conference of the Methodist Church and members of the community in and around Emory, Va.
Dr. Fred Kellogg, professor of Religion, will deliver this year's address about “John & Patrick,” the College's namesakes. During the annual ceremony new and transfer students will be recognized along with the 2012 senior class. Awards will be presented to members of the E&H faculty, staff, and community.
In the event of rain, Convocation will be held in the King Center Gymnasium on the Bob Johnson Court.

This event is part of the 175th Anniversary Celebration. For more information, visit www.ehc.edu/175.
