The College's 175th Anniversary celebration was the theme of the fall 2011 issue.

Jamie Smyth, Emory & Henry’s director of publications, has been honored with an award by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals for her work on the fall 2011 issue of the Alumni Magazine. You can read the issue online here.

Smyth received the Platinum Award, the highest level of recognition given by the association under the auspices of the Hermes Creative Awards, an international awards competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional and emerging media.

The award is the second award given to Smyth and the Alumni Magazine in recognition of excellence in publication design and editing. In April, the Tri-Cities chapter of the Public Relations Society of America awarded the magazine its Award of Excellence.
The Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals is an international organization consisting of professionals in marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, media production and freelance. AMCP judges are industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry.

“Thanks to Jamie, the E&H Alumni Magazine has been on a consistent course of improvement in recent years. It consistently wins praise from our public relations peers within and outside the field of higher education,” said Dirk Moore, director of public relations at Emory & Henry.
