Memorial Chapel Tuesday, November 08, 7:30pm
APPropos!, a vocal ensemble whose concerts are routinely received with great enthusiasm, will perform at Emory & Henry Tues., Nov. 8. This concert, entitled "Matters of the Heart," will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the E&H Memorial Chapel.
The concert by these exceptional musicians will include solos, quintets, trios and duets and will include works by Vaughan Williams, Brahms, Mozart, Puccini, Offenbach and Bizet.
The ensemble is comprised of members of the music faculty of Appalachian State University (thus the “APP” of the group’s name). Each member of this ensemble is a professional musician; together they have the combined experience of hundreds of performances. Soprano Julia Pedigo founded the organization in 1995. Pedigo has appeared throughout the United States, Canada and Europe as both soloist and recitalist, with such notable artists as Kathleen Battle, Richard Margison and Stephen Morscheck.
She is joined by mezzo-sopranos Priscilla Porterfield and Mary Gayle Greene, tenor Randall Outland, baritone Joseph Amaya, and pianist Rodney Reynerson.
The ensemble has made numerous appearances in North Carolina and Tennessee in various school and concert hall settings. Venues have included the Appalachian Summer Festival in Boone, NC, Meredith College in Raleigh, NC, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, N.C. and Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn. as well as numerous recitals on the stage of Rosen Concert Hall of Appalachian State University’s Broyhill Music Center.
