For many, Christmas at Emory & Henry College has come to mean beautiful music in a beautiful place.
On Sunday, Dec. 2, college musical groups will present beautiful music, including traditional carols and Christmas music, in a beautiful place – Memorial Chapel on the E&H campus. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m.
This year’s “Christmas at Emory” concert will be broadcast via a live web stream.
Conducted by Robert Matthews, the E&H Chamber Singers and Concert Choir will perform "And the Glory of the Lord" from Messiah, "Still, Still Night" by Jackson Berkey and "Jesus Christ the Apple Tree" by Elizabeth Poston.
The E&H Women's Ensemble, conducted by Christianne Roll, will perform a unique a capella version of "I'll Be Home for Christmas," and a fun, jazzy rendition of "Winter Wonderland."
Students Julian Bright and Sarah Hawsey will perform a piano duet. Under the direction of Matthew D. Frederick, the E&H Brass Ensemble, Brass Quintet and the Trumpet and Horn Ensemble will perform a variety of numbers ranging from traditional Christmas music and carols to modern adaptations of familiar Christmas tunes.
