Studio Theatre Thursday, February 23, 7:30pm

Students in the Emory & Henry College Department of Theatre present four performances of the Tennessee Williams classic, “Cat on A Hot Tin Roof,” in the Studio Theatre, February 23-26.  Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday-Saturday, February 24-25, and at 3 p.m. at the matinee on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012.

Tennessee William’s “Cat on A Hot Tin Roof” is the epitome of great American theatre.  This Pulitzer Prize winner from 1955 is a psychologically rich family drama which follows a prominent plantation family dealing with the loss of its patriarch, Big Daddy.  As most of the family jockeys for control of the estate, Big Daddy’s son, Brick, struggles to confront the skeletons in his closet.

The play is directed by Dr. Kelly Bremner, faculty member in the theatre department, with technical and scenic direction by Daniel Wheeler, also a professor in the theatre department.

Seating is very limited in the Studio Theatre so reserved seating is highly recommended.  Tickets are $12 at the door and $10 in advance, or $8 for students from other colleges and individuals over 55 years of age.  Reservations are honored until 5 minutes prior to opening at which time, seats remaining will be filled by those on the wait list.  Call 276.944.6846 to make reservations.  Emory & Henry students, faculty and staff are admitted free of charge.
