Emory & Henry College will conduct its annual Scholarship Day competition on Feb. 25, 2012. Selected first-year and transfer students who have applied for admission for the fall semester of 2012 will be invited to compete for talent-based awards and academic scholarships in the following categories:
• Pre-Health Professions
• Pre-Ministry/Church Vocations
• Honors Program
The competition is by invitation only. To be considered for an invitation, students must submit a completed application for admission and be accepted no later than Monday, Jan. 16, 2012. The Admissions Office and members of the E&H faculty will extend invitations to prospective students for each of the programs listed above. Students who are selected to attend Scholarship Day will be notified by the Admissions Office well in advance of Feb. 25 to ensure adequate time to prepare for their audition, portfolio review or interview.
In general, students invited for a portfolio review or audition for Art, Music or Theatre will have demonstrated significant interest, talent and achievement in the relevant creative field.
Students invited for an Honors Program interview will have developed exceptional critical thinking skills, intellectual curiosity and leadership potential during their high school years. Additionally, they must meet minimum academic criteria evidenced by their GPA, SAT or ACT scores at the time of acceptance.
Students invited for interviews in the Pre-Health Professions or Pre-Ministry/Church Vocations program must demonstrate academic or career interest in the relevant majors and co-curricular programs offered within Emory & Henry’s curriculum, while meeting minimum academic criteria evidenced by their GPA, SAT or ACT scores at the time of acceptance.
Scholarships and talent-based awards range from $500 to $2,500 and are renewable each year, provided students maintain satisfactory academic progress and meet specific participation requirements set by each program.
