Emory & Henry College Arts Series Presents John Cariani’s ‘Almost, Maine’

News

Emory & Henry College Arts Series and the Department of Theatre open the final play of the season April 19 with the production of ‘Almost, Maine,’ a comedy by playwright John Cariani.

The play begins Thursday, April 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the Studio Theatre on the E&H campus. The play will continue through Friday and Saturday, April 20 and 21, beginning at 7:30 p.m. and a 3 p.m. matinee on Sunday, April 22.

In the town of Almost, Maine, residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and hilarious ways under the Northern Lights.  Hearts are broken and mended in what the New York Times called “a whimsical approach to the joys and perils of romance. Magical happenings bloom beneath the snowdrifts.”

Actors in the play are students at Emory & Henry College.  Professor Christianne Roll is stage director of “Almost, Maine,” and Professor Dan Wheeler is design and technical director of the production.

Reservations are strongly recommended.  The play is free of charge to Emory & Henry College faculty, staff and students.  Advanced reservations for others are $10 for adults, and $8 for individuals 55 years or younger, along with students from other institutions.  Admission at the door is $12.  Call 276.944.6846 to make reservations.
