Golf Tournament to Help Support Brad Bowman Scholarship
Brad Bowman, Class of 1991, and a teacher at Carroll County High School, passed away on September 1, 2011, but his friends are working hard to make sure his life is still having a positive influence on young people.
The Brad Bowman Scholarship has been established at Carroll County High School to support a CCHS senior who is planning to attend Emory & Henry. Funds to support the scholarship are being raised through a golf tournament held this May in Galax.
Friend and fellow football player, Ernie Maddy, is pleased about the efforts to keep Brad’s memory vital, and is looking forward to seeing old friends at the golf tournament. “Brad is sorely missed by all of his friends and this is a way for us to get together and support two things that were always very dear to Brad’s heart; Carroll County High School and Emory & Henry College. We look forward to holding this every year and helping some very deserving students from CCHS continue their education at Emory and Henry. Go Wasps!!!”

The Brad Bowman Scholarship Committee is sponsoring a 4-man Captain’s Choice Tournament on Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Blue Ridge Country Club. We are seeking sponsors for the tournament. There will be two types of Sponsorships: A Gold Sponsorship will be $100 to sponsor a hole. A Silver Sponsorship will be $50 to sponsor a hole. Your business name will be advertised on a sign placed at one of the tees. The money goes directly to The Brad Bowman Scholarship Fund. Your contribution and support is greatly appreciated.
