Emory & Henry first-year and transfer students were welcomed last week to their new college home and enjoyed a variety of activities that acquainted them with one another and with the campus community.
“I think orientation was a great success this year,” said Todd Clark, assistant dean of students. Student orientation leaders and resident advisors worked together to provide the warm welcome that is a hallmark of the E&H community.
More than 50 members of E&H Greek organizations volunteered to help students move into their residence halls. “I think the actual move-in day was one of the highlights as it was very smooth this year from check-in with orientation to move-in at the halls.”
Kelly Espy, academic affairs advisor and coordinator of orientation programs, said new students benefitted from several social activities that helped them interact and begin to bond. They also enjoyed the traditional Honor Code Commitment Ceremony, which was organized by E&H Student Government.
