Students to Get Lyceum Credit for Attending Barter Theatre Performance

News

Emory & Henry College and The Barter Theatre, the State Theatre of Virginia, have expanded upon their longstanding partnership to allow E&H students the ability to receive Lyceum credit for attending Barter Theatre performances.

The Barter Theatre will be offering students the opportunity to see plays on both the Main Stage and Stage II at the discounted rate of $16 per ticket. Students may order tickets in advance, but they must notify the box office when ordering their ticket, and they must present their current student I.D. when picking up the ticket.

The following plays are available for Lyceum credit for the Fall 2011 semester (*indicates Stage II):
    A Southern Exposure (August – Sept. 10)
The Road to Appomattox (Sept. 6 – Nov. 12)*
    Cabaret (Sept. 16 – Nov. 12)
    Dracula Bites (Sept. 29 – Nov. 12)
Swamp Gas and Shallow Feelings (Oct. 7 – Nov. 12)*
    A Christmas Carol (Nov. 18 – Dec. 24)
    Wooden Snowflakes (Nov. 22 – Dec. 24)*

To receive credit for attending a Barter Theatre performance, students must retain their ticket stub and present it to the CSA office for credit. The Lyceum program is an academic requirement for graduation at Emory & Henry College. All full-time students enrolled in a degree program are required to attend five Lyceum events per semester. Students can only see two Barter plays per semester for Lyceum credit.

This discount is only available to current students.
