The assistant dean of students for Emory & Henry College was recently honored by his fellow employees as the August recipient of the Blue & Gold Staff Award.
The recipient, Todd Clark, has served the College for nearly four years as a member of the Student Affairs staff.
The Blue & Gold Staff Award was created to recognize outstanding Emory & Henry employees who go above and beyond the call of duty -- not only in their respective positions, but in the College community as well.
Prior to coming to Emory & Henry, Clark has served at several other universities including Union College, Louisiana State University, Virginia Tech and Kansas State University.
Clark was honored for his hard work and leadership in preparation for the fall 2011 orientation.
“I love this community and it is a family to me,” Clark said. “Without such a great team of people to work with and wonderful students to serve, none of this would be possible.”
When asked about the importance of the Blue & Gold Staff Award, President Reichard said, “It’s so important to me that we support all of our employees. The quality of the learning environment here at the College is very dependent on the work of the staff. They influence our students in a multitude of ways, and it’s so important that we provide support to them.”
At the ceremony, President Reichard also commented on how much the entire Clark family has become involved with the college. Clark’s wife Krista teaches Economics at Emory & Henry, and their sons Owen, 7 & Vaughn, 5, both attend nearby Meadowview Elementary School.
“I truly enjoy coming to work every day and, outside of work, this place really supports my family,” Clark adds. “It’s a joy to see E&H affect all aspects of my life.”
