Web Manager Wins Staff Award

News

The web manager for Emory & Henry College was recently honored by his fellow employees as the February recipient of the Blue & Gold Staff Award.

The recipient, Jed Arnold, has served the College for over 6 years as a member of the Public Relations staff.

The Blue & Gold Staff Award was created to recognize outstanding Emory & Henry employees who go above and beyond the call of duty -- not only in their respective positions, but in the College community as well.

Arnold was honored for his creativity and diligence in managing the college’s website. Besides overseeing the day to day operations of the www.ehc.edu website, Arnold also plays a major role in the social media strategies of the college’s Twitter, Facebook and Flickr accounts.

“Emory & Henry College is a unique, rewarding place to work --professionally and personally,” Arnold said. “It is a dynamic and invigorating place full of wonderful ideas and people.”

When asked about the importance of the Blue & Gold Staff Award, President Reichard said, “It’s so important to me that we support all of our employees. The quality of the learning environment here at the College is very dependent on the work of the staff. They influence our students in a multitude of ways, and it’s so important that we provide support to them.”

Jed Arnold and his wife Melanie (E&H Class of 2003) have two daughters, Hudson, 8 and Delaney, 5, with a baby boy due in August. In his free time, Arnold enjoys spending time with his family, reading, book collecting, and carpentry work.

If you know an Emory & Henry staff member who has performed exceptionally in his or her role and would like to nominate that employee for the Blue & Gold Staff Award, contact the Human Resources Office by the last business day of each month.
