Summer School

Jun 04th, 2014 All Day Various Classes Across Campus

Emory & Henry College has ramatically cut tuition for summer school this year. The changes reflect an attempt to provide more flexibility and a lower cost for students as they try to keep pace with their academic goals or as they seek to get a jump on the academic year beginning in the fall.

The College will cut per-credit-hour tuition from $465 to $200. In addition, the College will add a third summer term from July 21 to Aug. 8. Emory & Henry’s first summer term begins May 15 and runs to June 4. The second term begins June 9 and runs until July 17.

“Students often want to take summer courses in order to graduate sooner, make up for academic deficiencies, or keep their study skills well-honed between academic years,” said Dave Haney, vice president for academic affairs at the College.

Students from other colleges who are in the area for the summer, high school graduates who are entering college in the fall, high school students desiring dual enrollment credit, and qualified community members are also eligible to take certain courses by registering through the admissions office as special students.

Among the courses being offered are "Foundations of Writing," "Politics of the U.S.," "Marriage and Family," "Ethics," "Human Geography," "Statistics for the Behavioral Sciences," and several courses that are part of Emory & Henry's signature Core Curriculum. Additional course may be added before the summer begins.
