Biography

Dr. Fred Kellogg, Shelton Professor of Religion, has taught at Emory & Henry since 1969.  His main teaching areas are Bible, Greek, world religions, and Christian history.  Dr. Kellogg received his B.S. from Louisiana Tech, His Th.M. from Southern Methodist University, and his Ph.D. from Yale University.  He has also studied in Göttingen, Germany, and in Jerusalem.  He has served the college as department chair, division chair, summer school director, acting dean of faculty, and catalog editor.  He is a member of the American Academy of Religion and the Society of Biblical Literature.  Dr. Kellogg has received numerous awards, including listings in Who’s Who in America.  But he values most the close relationships with students, faculty and staff colleagues, and alumni that Emory & Henry has enabled him to develop over the years.
