Emory & Henry is very fortunate. The College enjoys one of the best rates of alumni participation in the nation. Why? Because E&H alumni are passionate about their College. They see a College that helped them increase their excellence and transform and shape their lives. They see a college, propelled by civic virtue and active faith, reach out to touch the lives of people and communities beyond its campus. And they see the impact of this mission not only sustained but multiplied, in large part because of the support the alumni provide. With each passing year, support from alumni becomes more important, because, with each passing year, the significance of a College committed to an education that transforms lives and communities grows.
Participation by young alumni in annual giving is vital to meeting long-term fundraising goals at Emory & Henry. Gifts by young alumni not only support institutional objectives today, but build a strong foundation for philanthropy that will strengthen Emory & Henry and its reputation in decades to come.
Each year, the senior class gives back to the College through a "Senior Gift." This voluntary fundraising effort is an opportunity for Seniors to express their appreciation for their E&H experience and to provide a lasting legacy for their class. Previous gifts have included: benches, picnic tables, handicap accessibility improvements, scholarship gifts and more. Seniors who participate in this act of giving back, form lasting connections between themselves and their alma mater.
Emory & Henry has five levels of giving based upon cumulative gifts received during each fiscal year. In addition, the College recently established the Patrick Henry Society Associates membership level for younger alumni who are within 15 years of their graduation.
