April 28, 2014: The National Weather Service has issued a a Tornado Warning in effect until 4:45 pm for the western area of Washington County, VA. This does not include the Emory area at this time. In addition, we are under a Tornado Watch until 8:00 pm this evening due to the current weather patterns that have the potential to develop tornadoes. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 4:45 pm for our area.

When Ethel Holder Preston (’66) read in the Emory & Henry Alumni Magazine that the College radio station was now expanded and broadcasting NPR, she was intrigued. Because, as fate would have it, after a long career in education, she finds herself working for the local NPR station in Park City, Utah.
