Matt Crisman has been hired as the new director of first-year admissions at Emory & Henry College.
Crisman, who served the past four years in admissions at Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport, La., was hired for the E&H position following a nationwide search.
“The size and beauty of the campus combined with the wonderful community spirit of this region is what attracted me to this opportunity,” Crisman said. “In my discussions with the faculty and staff, I could feel the passion and excitement for the future of this historic place.”
Crisman will be responsible the supervision of a fresh, energetic admissions team at the college. One of his first tasks will be to train his new staff on how to recruit the next class of E&H students. He will also help craft a communications recruitment plan.

According to Dave Voskuil, vice president for enrollment management at Emory & Henry, Crisman brings team-building skills as well as a strong background in student recruitment. “I believe with this new team that Emory & Henry is positioned to build upon the significant achievements of the past at even greater levels in the future," Voskuil said.
Crisman is a former college athlete who played football at McMurry University in Abilene, Texas. Along with his wife, Jill, his two daughters Jane Kapri, 3, and Sybil Anne, 7-months, Crisman is excited to make Southwest Virginia home.
