In nearly two years at Emory & Henry College, Leah Prater has found a creative home that has allowed her to blossom as a professional.
Her work to increase the brand awareness of the college in surrounding communities, and contribute to the overall communications plan of the college has earned her the August Blue & Gold Award sponsored by the Staff Affairs Council.
Both the American Advertising Federation of Southwest Virginia and the Tri-Cities chapter of the Public Relations Society of America have honored Prater on several occasions for her design work.
“Leah is a very talented professional who completes a wide variety of communication projects that add to her own success as a PR professional and to the success of others,” Dirk Moore, director of public relations said.
In the award nomination, Prater was praised for her support work during the recent update of the www.ehc.edu content management system, and for her continuing leadership with external marketing outreach at events such as Trail Days and the Southwest Virginia Outdoor Expo.
“Leah is always willing to step-up where there is a need to fill,” said PR colleague Brent Treash, chair of the Staff Affairs Council. “A great example of her dedication can be seen from a recent Saturday when she came in on her day off to take photos of the Admissions Visit Day, a press conference and the first home football game.”
Emory & Henry College is a special place for me, and it’s great to work with so many talented people.Leah Prater
