Downes joined the faculty at Emory & Henry College this fall after leaving Philadelphia and New York City where he had spent the last 15 years in a dynamic and eclectic career both on stage and off as a professional actor, musician and educator. He will return to Philadelphia this summer where his collection of original songs Highways & Daydreams will have a new revised concert production after having been presented at Tavern On Camac in Philadelphia and The Duplex in New York City in 2013 and its premiere at the Biello Martin Studio in Philadelphia in 2011.  Downes’ other works for the stage include the musical adaptation of Richard Donner’s 1992 film Radio Flyer, Dancing As Fast As We Can and Seven. His songs have been performed by artists from the worlds of Broadway and commercial music.

Additionally, Downes is in the process of collaborating on a new theater for young audiences musical, for which he received a grant from Emory & Henry College, and hopes to workshop that piece at the college this coming academic year.

Highways & Daydreams: The Songs of Jeremiah Downes will be presented on July 24th at 7PM at the Biello Martin Studio, 148 North 3rd Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. $10 Cover and seating is extremely limited.
