Emory & Henry students as well as members of the faculty and staff will celebrate the first Ampersand Day on April 22. The event will spotlight student accomplishments on behalf of themselves and the community.
The event will showcase student projects that demonstrate student growth through doing. Projects include undergraduate research, creative endeavors, internships, entrepreneurship and other integrative and hands-on work.
The day also highlights the E&H program, Project Ampersand, the student experience at Emory & Henry that connects students’ passions to projects that aim to bring about positive change in their world.
Students will be free from classes to present and attend presentations by their classmates. The presentations occur in concurrent sessions that begin at 9, 10 and 11 a.m. A “Student Showcase” featuring the work of five E&H students will begin at 2 p.m. in Wiley Hall Auditorium.
At 3:30 p.m., the community will gather in a celebration of its students and their accomplishments. The celebration will include a regional barbecue cook-off, live music, and other family fun activities.
