If crawling into a hole in the ground is your kind of adventure, the Emory & Henry Outdoor Program has a caving experience for you.
The Program follows the national standard for karst studies and caving safety as defined by the National Speleological Society. If your inclination for subterranean exploration is just beginning to develop or you are a vertical caver, as comfortable on rope under the earth as you are above it, the Outdoor Program can pique your spelunking interests.
Caves are most often found in limestone, and Emory & Henry is fortunate to be situated in the limestone rich, hill and valley topography of the Central Appalachian Mountains. Surrounding the campus is a matrix of underground passages and caverns in which to broaden your liberal arts education to include the hidden and fascinating world of bats and stalagmites.
In the Emory & Henry Outdoor Program you can find an experience of a life time within the deep, dark earth!
